Plants

The turn of the century style of decorative art, architecture and design - prominent from 1890 to 1910 - was greatly inspired by the flowing curves and natural forms of plants and flowers. A perfect example is this exterior motif of the grand Hotel Central in Prague.

Natural
Cacophony

Dark colours are trending for 2016. Rich and moody, preferably all mixed and put together. Think of spotty and blurred textures and designs; as the fading watercolour on an aquarelle or the staggered colours in a kaleidoscope. Combine with coloured glaze; iridescent, oily or sparkling like a crystal that bounces a lightcourse which captures and reflects a rainbow. Visualize the aurora borealis. Add shimmering gold, dark or bright green, ruby, emerald, night blue with a hint of cobalt and terracotta. Preferably based on one theme, such as plants. Now dream on and float away.
